Knowledge has a short shelf life, and this is one of the biggest threats to the future of Business Education. With the age of technology, and the access to the internet via social media platforms like YouTube, the development of a new Marketing Strategy or Strategic Framework will quickly become obsolete if they don’t keep up with the ever evolving landscape of Business. The introduction of Artificial Intelligence has greatly impacted this, as many tasks that previously required a degree in Business such as developing complex financial models and conducting market forecasts can now be accomplished in mere seconds by a machine. This creates the potential for severe issues in the Business Education Field, especially for business majors that do not possess technical knowledge. In essence, a business major without some degree of technological expertise is quickly becoming obsolete, much like a carpenter without the tools necessary to practice his trade.

On the contrary, as Robots and Automation continue replacing people in the workplace the importance of the human aspects of business will continue to climb. It has become an area where there are still limits to what an algorithm can do with it to resolve organizational conflicts, negotiate and empower leaders. The ability to assess the value that a company has for people and determine the moral compass for the company is the final bastion of business management beyond the mere mechanical efficiencies that are produced through technology.
