For example, by imposing a fee on drivers using their vehicles during rush hour, Stockholm has successfully decreased CO₂ emissions from exhaust fumes and mitigated air pollution. Moreover, tax revenue can be used to improve urban environments by planting trees and flowers alongside roads.
Second, developing innovative technologies can be a key solution. Fundamentally, many energy sources and useful materials have carbon-based structures.
